Grand Central ('Macy') is a beautifully conformed and well bred rising 4yr old Manhattan Rain filly who after fetching $50,000 at the 2015 MM Weanling sales injured herself (dislocated stifle) when becoming cast in the boxes at the following MM Yearling Sales. Consequently she is a breeding proposition only, however her injury doesn't stop her being the fastest in the paddock to the feed bin.
Out of Shibuya, a three-quarter to the group and stakes performed Miss Darcy and a half to multiple group winner and placed Hurried Choice, Macy's pedigree is only going to get better with a Foxwedge and Smart Missile yet to run for Shibuya, who has one named foal to race for multiple wins.
Not only do you get a filly by Manhattan Rain who has hit the ground running with 60% winners to runners and a near 20% winners to stakes performed ratio, you also get into the Encosta De Lago connection. Encosta De Lago last season became the highest-earning broodmare sire in a single season in Australia after surpassing the previous record of A$17,262,161 set by Danehill in the 2010-11 season.
Macy has a lovely quiet temperament, is excellent for the farrier and fits in with paddock mates. This is a most regrettable sale for our small breeding operation, but unexpected surgery to a rising 2yr old, forces this genuine sale. Macy floats beautifully and is offered for sale with a very modest reserve.
