Description
Offering this extremely good looking 3 year old filly who has had a solo race start for the Gai Waterhouse/Adrian Bott stable.
Capucines is in full work and is sound. She has come to the end of her first preparation and is ready now for a change of environment and status to fully enhance her future racing potential.
Capucines had trialled well prior to her race debut was just starting to show she was probably at the end of her prep and only needed the race experience before embarking on a break from stable life.

In her only race start Capucines did plenty wrong & was beaten 7.5L for 9th in what has proven to be a hot form race at Newcastle over 1200m.
2 horses that finished in front of her Emerald Earth (4th) and Oakfield Target (5th) have subsequently gone on to win their next starts and behind her in the finish Temperate (10th) has win it's next start at Gouburn and Emporer Ali (11th) was placed at it's next run in Cessnock.
It's fairly safe to assume off the above form references that the filly will win races when placed effectively.

The filly is closely related to one of the truly great Australian sprinters in HAY LIST.
Capucines is the second foal of dual winner Golden Statue who is a full sister to HAY LIST (Statue Of Liberty) who obviously needs no introduction. HAY LIST was a 7 time Group winner and was victorious in races such as ATC All Aged S., Gr.1, VRC Newmarket H., Gr.1 and MVRC Manikato S., Gr.1. It is safe to say he would have added many more Group 1 races to his record had he not ran into the greatest sprinter we have ever seen in BLACK CAVIAR, he was a gallant 2nd to the great mare in 4 Group 1 races.
Golden Statue has had one other foal to race, Tenappy Ladies, a 3 time winner- 2 of those wins at Melbourne Metro level for Mick Kent.
Capucines is by ever consistent sire MOSSMAN. MOSSMAN boasts a runners to winners statistic of a most impressive 70.7% and stakeswinners of 5.7%. He has sired 6 Group 1 winners in BUFFERING, MOSSFUN, OFCOURSEICAN, PLUCKY BELLE, MISS MOSSMAN and IVICTORY.
Obviously looking forward a filly with a pedigree of this calibre has a lucrative future as a broodmare. Her dam has a Husson and a Real Impact to run for her and is now in foal to exciting young Arrowfield stallion Pariah so there's plenty of upside in the pedigree. As mentioned above she is a daughter of Mossman who is not only a well proven sire of runners but is also proving himself as a desirable broodmare sire with his daughters already producing 10 stakewinners including EASTENDER and BENNY'S BUTTONS.
