Description
Terhaab was a $410,000 yearling purchase by renowned judge Angus Gold (Shadwell Estates).. On the track, Terhaab was placed at 3 over 1300m on the Gold Coast.
Terhaab is by the great More Than Ready, sire of over 1800 winners, nearly 200 Stakes Winners, and progeny earnings of $227 million. He has been replicating this success as a broodmare sire, his daughters having already produced over 1,000 winners, 90 Stakes Winners and earnings of $90 million.
All of Terhaab's foals to date have been by Danehill line stallions. Her first foal was by Zoffany (by Dansili), and her next three foals are by Outreach (by Exceed and Excel). More Than Ready mares have worked particularly well with Danehill line stallions. To date this cross has produced 13% Stakes Horses/Runners. But perhaps more importantly, the Exceed and Excel/More Than Ready cross has produced 16% Stakes Horses/Runners and includes this season's superstar 3yo Bivouac (by Exceed and Excel).
Terhaab has been a faultless broodmare, having been to stud for four seasons and produced four foals as follows:
2016 colt by Zoffany. Sold 2018 Magic Millions 2yo Breeze Up Sale to Jimmy Ting (HK) for $75,000.
2017 colt by Outreach. Sold 2019 Inglis 2yo Breeze Up Sale to Aquis Farm for $42,000.
2018 colt by Outreach. Retained by breeder. To be offered at next year's yearling sales.
2019 filly by Outreach. Foaled 12th October. Sells with the mare.
Outreach's yearlings were very well received this year. His top priced filly selling to Snowden Racing for $180,000, while his top priced colt sold to Chris Waller for $150,000. He has already had several 2yo's to the trials which have shown very good ability.
Terhaab comes from one of Australia's best female lines, her 4th Dam being the "Blue Hen" Summoned. This family has produced Group 1 winners such as Zeditave, Melito, Norzita, Greys Inn & Smart Call (both South Africa), and in more recent times Australian Group winners like Leonardo Da Hinci and Pariah.
Terhaab had a straight forward 2019 foaling. She sells with a clear Breeding Soundness Certificate and her Hendra Vaccinations are up to date (see attached file). Her Outreach filly was foaled healthy and has remained as such since birth.
