Won her maiden in brilliant fashion coming from last after circling the field before running away. Than was a very unlucky 4th as the only filly in the 3yo Geelong Classic coming from last and wide on the turn (**REPLAY ATTACHED**). Jockey Craig Williams said after the race 'she's a live chance in the VRC Oaks'.
Reliable Dame was picked out and purchased as a yearling by Hall of Fame trainer Lee Freedman for $150,000.
Lee and Anthony Freedman have previously commented that her Autumn 3yo season would be where we should see the best of her as a juvenile., given her good size frame and scope.
With natural improvement from her race experience and physical maturity, Reliable Dame represents an exciting racing proposition going into the Autumn where she will most likely be aimed towards the 3yo fillies classic races. Her sire Reliable Man won a French Derby before coming out to Australia and winning the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth 2000M, beating It's a Dundeel in race record time. Reliable Man also produced 2 colts that ran in the first five (Sully & Main Stage) of the VRC Derby.The Reliable Man's (as expected) are really starting to blossom the deeper they go into their 3yo season.
This filly already has black type next to her name and as you can see from her pedigree, she offers fantastic residual value as a breeding or sale proposition after her racing career.
