Description
** Wootton Bassett weanling filly**
Lot 261 is a brown filly by Wootton Bassett (GB) out of the winning mare Elegant d’Oro (Medaglia d’Oro {USA}) who is a daughter of Group 2 winner Elegant Fashion (Danewin) and she is from the family of Height Of Fashion, Nayef, Unfuwain etc.
Elegant d'Oro is very well related being the half sister to
- Star Fashion (Street Cry): Group 3 winner and Group 1-placed. She is in foal to Dundeel, has a Snitzel weanling filly and her Snitzel yearling filly made $750k to Gerald Ryan and Sterling Alexiou
- Fashchanel (I Am Invincible): Group 3 placed and a winner of over $300k. Being sent to stud in 2023
- Classy Fashion (Fusaichi Pegasus): Stakes performed and in foal to Hellbent. Has a weanling by Microphone for the yearling sales next year.
- Dezign (Zabeel): dam of Group 1 winner Nimalee (So You Think) who topped the Inglis Chairman's Sale this year when making $3.6 million to the big if Coolmore Stud.
Wootton Basset, a son of Iffraaj, was an unbeaten champion 2yo of France and won the Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere over 1400m. He is proving an elite stallon with his stats currently running at 8.5% stakes-winners to runners headed by 6 Group 1 winners including Almanzour who is a Group 1 producing stallion in the Southern Hemisphere. This filly is from Wootton Basset's first Sothern Hemisphere crop.
Recently inspected by Inglis's Chris Russell, he was quoted as saying that she is a "good moving filly with great quality and colour and an attractive head. She is correct in front and has good width through her hocks and good depth. She would have been at the top end of any weanling sale this year and is a select sale yearling for next year."
