Description
CHOUX DIVA is a metro winning mare and a half-sister to two G1 winners including MISS WILSON who won the G1 New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes as well as JIMMY CHOUX; who was crowned Horse of the Year and Champion 3YO in NZ after winning an amazing 5x G1 races!
JIMMY CHOUX took out honours in the G1 New Zealand Derby, the G1 Spring Classic, the G1 ATC Rosehill Guineas, G1 Windsor Park Plate and the G1 New Zealand Two Thousand Guineas. A brilliant race horse, he also went on to become a prominent sire in NZ.
At stud, CHOUX DIVA hasn’t had a lot of luck, with her $650,000 outstanding WRITTEN TYCOON colt sadly passing away due to stable accident post sale and her 2023 foal by RUSSIAN REVOLUTION deceased. She is the dam of one named foal in that of ROBESPIERRE by CHOISIR who was exported to New Zealand to race.
In keeping to the Guineas style of horse, CHOUX DIVA has been aptly mated to THE AUTUMN SUN (DLS: 06/10/2023) who stands at Arrowfield Stud. THE AUTUMN SUN has had a brilliant start to his career at stud, having produced 3x stakes winners (4.4% stakes winners to runners) including AUTUMN BALLET, AUTUMN ANGEL and COCO SUN as well as a further 3x stakes horses such as multiple G1 placed TUTTA LA VITA and G1 placed in New Zealand in that of TULSI. A sire on the rise, these statistics will only continue to improve as these G1 placegetters no doubt secure their stakes wins in the near future!
CHOUX DIVA has a lovely, sweet nature. She is a very well built, strong, good boned, correct mare who has passed all of these assets onto her babies. On 6/1/22 she sustained a fracture to her right frontal bone on her face. This was treated surgically with removal of fragments. Over the last 12 months she has had absolutely no issues with this area, remaining sound and healthy.
