EUROPEAN IMPORT WITH PLENTY STILL TO OFFER
Caribbean Gold is a lightly raced 6yo gelding (northern hemisphere breeding) by Havana Gold who is just starting to find his feet in racing again after a tendon injury (January 2019). He has since trialled well and raced well with no soundness issues whatsoever.
He has returned to the track perfectly sound and well and has not shown and signs of lameness or the injury reoccurring, as evident in his good 4th placing performance at Scone on the 4th August.
If you look at his race record, you will notice all of his form is on dry/synthetic tracks. Unfortunately, he has not been able to see a dry track at all this preparation and has not been able to produce his best because of it. His dry/synthetic track record reads 6 starts, 1 win and 2 placings. All 6 starts on the wet have been unplaced.
His latest start at Scone on the 4th of August was the driest track he saw this preparation and he performed very well, just missing out on 3rd place by the bob of the head. I am confident that getting him back on a drier surface will bring his winning form back out of him.
The syndicate have given him a decent run but feel it is time to move him on. He still has plenty to offer his new owner and will be very competitive in the country/provincial scene once the weather dries up again.
He stands at approximately 15.3hh. He has been seen to windsuck. He holds his condition very well however.
