Description
This filly is from the first crop of dual Group 1 winning sprinter RUSSIAN REVOLUTION, a son of 4-time Champion Sire SNITZEL. Russian Revolution was unbeaten as a 2yo before winning his first race in his 3yo season, the Group 3 Vain Stakes. This was quickly followed by victory in the Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes, a race previously won by now leading sires ZOUSTAR and BRAZEN BEAU. Russian Revolution’s next victory came in the Group 1 The Galaxy, where he defeated the Group 1 winners REDZEL and ENGLISH. He then came back the following season to take out the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate, defeating Group 1 winners SHE WILL REIGN, CATCHY and BOOKER.
This filly is the first foal out of the multiple winning, Group 2 placed PER INCANTO (USA) mare NAHEMA (NZ). Nahema won her debut race as a 2yo before running second in the Group 2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes at her very next start. She then won another 4 races in both New Zealand and Australia. Nahema is a half-sister to Group 3 winner HAMMER DOWN and is from the family of dual Group 1 winner MACO’REILLY and the joint NZ Filly of the Year and Group 1 winner PLUME.
