Description
Niccovi is multiple stakes performed daughter of Nicconi from the Charge Forward mare, Fully Chargeable. Fully Chargeable is a half sister to the very talented ‘Ability’, a Group 3 winner of 7 races, 2 at stakes level, from just the 20 career starts. A beautiful physical, Niccovi was a $200k yearling purchase for her trainer Simon Miller which made her the equal top priced filly by her sire sold in 2018 and equal second highest priced of all the Nicconis sold at the yearling sales in that year.
On the track, Niccovi showed great speed and first up in her second preparation, at only her second race start, she ran a smart 2nd in the Perth Magic Millions (RL) behind multiple stakes winning juvenile, Jericho Missile. Niccovi broke her maiden next start at Ascot beating Prim and Proper who, at her 2 subsequent starts, won the Supremacy Stakes (LR) and got beat 0.06L in the Gimcrack Stakes (Gr 3). In her last start of her second campaign, Niccovi ran in the Karrakatta Plate (Gr2), Perth’s premier 2yo race, where she was beaten just over 2L after drawing barrier 15.
Following a spell, Niccovi’s first up run was a 0.17L 2nd to Red Can Man (a multiple stakes winner and in Nov ’20 placed 2nd in a Group 2 and 4th in a Group 1) at Belmont before being sent East to campaign in Melbourne over the Spring Carnival. In a three start campaign, she first raced in the Blue Sapphire Gr 3 before running 2nd in the Crockett Stakes (LR) at Moonee Valley behind Broadwayandfourth (multiple Group performed this spring) and beating Villami, who’s previous 2 starts were a 0.2L 2nd to Libertini in the Furious Stakes Gr2 and 0.4L 3rd to Loving Gaby and Exhilarates in the Champagne Stakes Gr3. Niccovi’s next start was on VRC Oaks day where she ran a close 0.2L 2nd up the straight in the VRC Red Roses Stakes Gr 3 to Sisstar and beating multiple stakes winner California Zimbol, who was a Group 3 winner of the Thoroughbred Club Stakes Gr 3 at her previous start. Niccovi then returned to Western Australia for one more run that preparation where she finished 3rd in the Placid Ark Stakes LR.
In all, Niccovi amassed $245k in her 13 starts where she registered a win and six minor placings with four of these being at stakes level. She is being sold as a breeding prospect only as she has been retired due to knee issues and a breeding soundness report has been completed and is available on the sale page. She is an attractive breeding propostion beinf free of Danehill and she stands 16hh, has a great temperament with no vices.
