Description
Great opportunity to purchase a young commercial mare in foal to the rising star of Australian stallion ranks.
By multiple Group 1 winning Hong Kong star, Akeed Mofeed, Rain Lily is out of stakes placed Refuse to Bend mare Royal Bender. She is a full-sister to stakes placed Raging Queen and is from the family of El Padrino and Nullabor.
This is a family on the up. Her dam Royal Bender has a colt at foot by Exceed and Excel and was covered by Written Tycoon in the 2020 breeding season.
She presents with an early cover and in foal to a sire on fire, Toronado.
A multiple Group 1 winner himself, he sired his first Group 1 winner in Masked Crusader who was ultra-impressive in the William Reid and added to the string of talented Stakes performed progeny coming through the ranks including Affair to Remember, Still a Star, Laverrod, Shelby Cobra etc
Standing for $27,500.00 in 2020, Swettenham Stud has noted his service fees will increase substantially in this coming season so this mares stocks will only rise.
9 yearlings by Toronado have been sold so far at the 2021 yearling sales at an average of $112,777 and a maximum of $220,000 so do the maths on where these figures might reach when his fee potentially doubles.
