Description
Young sire opportunity.
Defcon is a son of Champion Sprinter Choisir with powerful physique and blistering juvenile speed. He is a young sire with his oldest runners just 2YO this season. He has already sired the winners Alert And Ready for Kevin Kemp (earner of $100,000) and debut winner Situation Room (Tony Gollan).
His yearlings have sold up to $100,000. and he stamps his stock with the same imposing physique that he possesses.
Lightly raced, Defcon recorded brilliant performances as a 2yo winning the Gr 3 Black Opal Stakes (1200m) and slick runner up in both the Gr 2 ATC Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) and the Gr 3 ATC Canonbury Stakes (1100m) before taking out the Gr 3 MRC McNeil Stakes (1200m) as a 3yo. The highest-priced yearling by Choisir of his crop when purchased by James Harron Bloodstock for $340,000, Defcon is from six-time 1000m winner Nuclear Force, by Encosta de Lago.
Defcon has served four breeding seasons at stud with his oldest crop just 2yo. His fertility was restricted in his first couple of seasons however has improved each year. His most recent breeding season resulted with 38 out of 53 mares in foal (71%). He was advertised at $4,400 inc GST.
Defcon is a fine specimen of a stallion with a high libido who is well worth any studmasters inspection.
