Description
Malahide is a 5YO mare by Shamus Award, sire of 9 individual stakes winners this season including the G1 winner Media Award.
Malahide has been retired after a suspensory injury to her near fore. She stands 15.3 hh, has no vices and a good temperament.
A winner of five races at 1200m, Malahide was an undefeated 2YO, wining on debut at the Gold Coast by 2.25 lengths before winning a $175,000 2YO race at Doomben, beating home subsequent Group 3 winner Pennino.
She ran 2nd in the Listed Daybreak Lover to the Group 1 performer Signore Fox. She was also only beaten 2.1 lengths by the Group 1 winner Invincibella in a $1,000,000 race and 3.25 lengths by Vega One, who has subsequently won the Group 1 Kingsford Smith Cup at Eagle Farm.
Malahide is closely related to the Group 2 winner Haut Brion Her who ran 5th in the Everest in 2020. The is great upside to her family as she is one of four living fillies out of Lady Millions. Her weanling half sister by Star Turn and the 2YO called Lady Rain have both been retained by the breeder to race. Rebel Lady was covered by Zousain in 2020.
