Description
Rich Girl is a half-sister to this season’s outstanding kiwi mare TWO ILLICIT, winner of last month’s G2 Travis Stakes at Te Rapa and the G1 Captain Cook Stakes prior to Christmas. Over the past three season’s Two Illicit has established herself as one of New Zealand’s highest rated racehorses, winning at stakes level six times with five Group One placings including a second in the G1 New Zealand Derby.
Rich Girl is by internationally successful sire Showcasing (Oasis Dream), the sire or 57 stakes winners and from the Green Desert line that has been so successful in Australasia.
She hails from one of Juddmonte Farms leading families, with her fourth dam being the massively influential blue-hen mare Modena.
On the track, Rich Girl showed plenty early in her career, winning back to back trials at Cambridge before an impressive debut second. Unfortunately, niggling issues prevented her progressing from this promising start and she has been retired from racing.
She is lovely big strong mare, standing over 16hh with plenty of bone and substance. She has an excellent nature and is very good to handle. She will make a great addition to any commercial broodmare band.
