Description
Royal Expectations is one of those rare broodmare offerings that provides security of commercial strength and depth of quality and racetrack performance whether her she has a colt for filly.
An incredibly strong female side she is out of a half sister to stakes performers and producers NEDIYM’S GLOW and Radiant Star. NEDIYM’S GLOW is a 4 time winner including the Gr 3 VRC Thoroughbred Breeders stakes and Gr 3 MRC Blue Diamond Prelude (f), who is also the dam of 7 time winner and stakes placed Double Jeopardy. Radiant Star won on 4 occasions, placing at Listed level and is the dam of Gr 1 Sires Produce runner up Scratch Me Lucky.
To provide the balance mentioned above Royal Expectations also possesses an enviable male influence to her page. She is a daughter of Champion sire EXCEED AND EXCEL making her a full relation to KINGLIKE who won the Gr 2 VRC Danehill Stakes and 2nd in the Gr 2 ATC Challenge Stakes. Also a half sister to ROYAL HAUNT – MIRAGE (HK) who was stakes performed on a number of occasions before being raced on in Hong Kong to become a stakes winner and earning prize money in excess of HK$1.5 million.
Having already foaled a filly by young gun sire Capitalist and a Street Boss that made $70,000 through this years Magic Millions National weanling sale, Royal Expectations is being offered in foal to a very appealing stallion prospect Pinatubo.
Pinatubo was an unbeaten 2yo with a TF rating of 134 – the highest rated European juvenile for 25 years, higher than the likes of Champion 2YOs Frankel, Shamardal and Teofilo. He won the G1 National Stakes as a 2yo by an incredible 9 lengths in the quickest time for 18 years, a race also won by UK sire phenomenon Dubawi. He is by super sire Shamardal, just like Lope De Vega who’s Southern hemisphere progeny include Group 1 winners Santa Ana Lane, Gytrash, Vega Magic and Vega One. Only Frankel (9) and Cracksman (8) ran to a Timeform rating of above 120 more times in their first ten starts than Pinatubo (7) in Europe since 2000. Mares in foal to Pinatubo realised up to $550,000 this year through the sale ring indicating the confidence the Australian market has in this horse.
