Description
Fashion Faux Pas represents a truly rare opportunity to purchase one of a very select and tightly-held group of mares currently in foal to multiple Champion sire Snitzel. Furthermore, she is already proven to click with Snitzel as the dam of an outstanding $1,700,000 yearling colt, sold to Coolmore Stud earlier this year, which was just her second foal.
Snitzel has proven to be particularly potent when bred to imported American mares, with the likes of Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Switzerland, Group 1 Galaxy winner Russian Revolution and Group 1 Moir Stakes winner Wild Ruler all being produced from imported American mares.
Fashion Faux Pas was herself a stakes winner in America, running a 119 Timeform USA and a 97 Beyer speed figure when winning the Light Hearted Stakes by over 14 widening lengths.
She is by Flatter, who is already the broodmare sire of 37 stakes winners, including four Group 1 winners, headed by Group 1 Santa Anita Derby winner and stallion Taiba, and Group 1 winning 2YO Juju's Map and Group 1 winning sprinter Nakatomi. She also comes from an outstanding family, with no fewer than eight stakes horses under her first dam, and tails back to the fabled La Troienne family.
Fashion Faux Pas has an excellent Extreme Choice weanling filly on the ground who will be retained to be sold as a yearling. Stud manager Jim Carey describes her as "a beautiful, big strong filly. She has great quality, a big hindquarter, and will be one of our highlight yearlings at the 2026 sales." Footage and pictures of this filly are included in this listing for reference only, she does not form a part of the sale.
Fashion Faux Pas is herself a big, strong mare with plenty of power and presence, very much the type of mare to suit the vast majority of the top Australian-based stallions. She stands 16.1hh and is available for inspection at Newgate Farm.
