Description
A robust colt by leading sire Pride Of Dubai, this yearling is out of a Choisir half-sister to Jun Gong (by Spinning World), who was third in the G3 Carbine Club Stakes and accumulated almost HK$3 million ($626,000) in prizemoney across his career. Four other siblings are winners, including metropolitan winner Istanbul (by Spinning World).
A family that consistently turns out winners, this colt’s second dam is a half-sister to 10-time winning sprinter Manhattan Von (by Geiger Counter), who placed at Group level, and the versatile 12-time winner Storngarm, who won over distances between 1200 and 2000 metres. Close in the family is Listed HKJC Chairman’s Trophy victor Flying Blue (by Piccolo) and G1 South African Derby winner Be Noble (by Noble Bijou).
Oh Barbie herself has produced two winners from three offspring to race to date, including six-time winner Annoy'en One (by Star Witness). Her third foal to the track, Bold And Blazen (Mendelssohn), narrowly missed breaking his maiden by 0.02l at Hawkesbury in March of this year. Her 2-year-old Written Doll (by Written By) is yet to race for renowned Warwick Farm trainer David Pfieffer.
Pride Of Dubai has had a breakout season that sees him vying for a Champion Sire title, thanks to the exploits of leading offspring Bella Nipotina, Deny Knowledge, and Pride Of Jenni among seven individual stakes winners in Australia and over $21 million in progeny earnings. Week in, week out, he continues to provide winners at all levels and distances, with winners in 21 countries and stakeswinners in seven. His colts average $123,157 in prizemoney per offspring to race, and nine of his 23 stakes winners to date are colts or geldings.
This colt is the perfect opportunity to secure a racehorse that will train on, or a Ready To Run prospect for later in the year. Pride Of Dubai has already produced seven winners in Hong Kong who have collectively earned over $7 million in prizemoney.
