Description
Prontezza is a four-time metropolitan-winning mare by Top Sire More Than Ready, out of the outstanding Gr.1-winning mare Rostova. She hails from a high-class family steeped in black type. Her dam, Rostova, was an exceptional race mare, winning the Gr.1 Robert Sangster Stakes and the Gr.2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes, as well as placing in multiple Group races throughout her career.
Prontezza is a half-sister to the multiple Group-winning mare Anaheed (Fastnet Rock), a multiple Group winner, including victories in the prestigious Gr.2 Percy Sykes Stakes and Gr.2 Sweet Embrace Stakes, among other notable stakes successes She is also a half-sister to the multiple stakes winner Farooq (Frankel).
On the track, Prontezza herself was a consistent metro performer, winning four races.
As a broodmare, she is the dam of Pronto Vincento, a winner by Champion Sire I Am Invincible. She also has an exciting three-year-old filly by Alabama Express, who was purchased for $220,000 at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale and won as a juvenile. In addition, she has a yearling by Written Tycoon, which has been retained by Yulong.
Prontezza is currently in foal to Gr.1-producing stallion Alabama Express, whose first crop are three-year-olds. Alabama Express is quickly emerging as a sire of top-class horses, including three-time Gr.1 winner Treasurethe Moment, multiple Group winner Alabama Lass, and stakes winner Glasgow Lass. His early success, particularly with fillies, marks him as one of the most exciting young sires in Australia.
