Description
Coromandel is a lightly raced daughter of former Darley shuttle stallion Bernardini, the sire of 61 stakes winners to date and the broodmare sire of 12.
She’s a full sister to TOYDINI, a winner of 2x Gr.2’s, 2x Gr.3’s and Gr.1 placed.
Coromandel was an $80,000 yearling at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale and has raced twice at provincial level for Warwick Farm trainer Matthew Smith.
Her dam is the multiple stakes winning galloper JOHAN’S TOY, who was runner-up in a Doncaster and Epsom Handicap for Guy Walter. JOHAN’S TOY is a half sister to EXTRA ZERO and OPERETTA LASS.
The family is a winning one and there’s plenty of upside – JOHAN’S TOY was bought by Alan Bell at the 2015 Inglis Australian Easter Broodmare Sale and has since produced a colt by DEEP FIELD sold for $260,000 at the 2018 Magic Millions to Toby Edmonds, a DUNDEEL colt sold for $200,000 at the Magic Millions in 2017; and a filly by the same stallion this season. JOHAN’S TOY is now in foal to another Newgate Farm stallion: CAPITALIST.
Coromandel’s half sister Kidding Around (by All American), has a yearling filly by NOT A SINGLE DOUBT catalogued in the upcoming 2018 Inglis Classic Sale by Arrowfield Stud (Lot 468).
