Description

One runner, one very promising black type performer... that is the most encouraging start made by Spendthrift's brilliant Group One winning sprinter Warrior's Reward has made to his southern hemisphere career.

Already a proven stallion in the US where he has done a great job siring 16 stakes winners (with progeny earnings in excess of $23.9 million), Warrior's Reward has had only limited representation in this part of the world but is already showing great promise with his son Mark The Horse - the first of the breed to race in Australia - such a promising third in the Gr.2 Stutt Stakes at just his fourth start.

With his first small locally bred crop just two, Warrior's Reward has plenty of upside as a stallion and this filly is out of the promising broodmare Dawndane whose first foal is the metropolitan placed five times winning sprinter Rahdane.

By Danehill's superbly bred son Foreplay, Dawndane hails from a strong black type family being one of six winners (from as many to race) for her city placed two times winning dam Dawnfire (also dam of the city winners Salote and Dawnfire Dancer), half-sister to the durable stakes winners Final Fantasy (Gr.1 Epsom Handicap) and Padfoot Charlie (Listed Canberra Cup).

What a consistent family this is, this filly's first five dams between them producing 24 winners from 30 runners; an 80% winners-to-runners strike rate!

Boasting crosses of the outstanding mares Natalma and Flower Bowl, this filly can also boast amongst her relations the stakes winners Princess Patrice (NZ Oaks), Ma Cherie (Epsom Handicap), Classic Conquest, Graven Spa, Charger and Veine d'Or.
