A 2YO stakes-winning filly by SPIRIT OF BOOM out of ENCOSTA DE LAGO mare KINKA RHODE

8 starts - 1 win - 2 places - $167,050

KINKY BOOM rose to prominence as a 2YO after winning a trial at Morphetiville on 29/01/2018 in fine style. Just four days later she was shipped to Melbourne and debuted at Caulfield in the Inglis 2YO Premier (Restricted Listed) and won decisively defeating Grand Symphony and Artistocratic Miss.

It was this performance that led bookmakers to install KINKY BOOM as an early pre-post favourite for the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes.

Following a troubled run in the G1 Blue Diamond, KINKY BOOM was spelled but returned in the latter half of her 2YO season and finished third behind eventual Group performer SWEET ROCKETTE in a field where she also beat home subsequent All Star Mile winner and current G1 Cox Plate favourite MYSTIC JOURNEY (5th). KINKY BOOM would finish third again at her next start as a 3YO in an effort that was very promising.

Unfortunately, KINKY BOOM disappointed at her next two outings and was found to require a wind operation. After returning from a spell this July she has not been able to recapture her early juvenile form.

One of SPIRIT OF BOOM's first stakeswinners, KINKY BOOM is a very impressive and imposing physical. Her full-brother realised $200,000 at the 2019 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale with another full-brother by SPIRIT OF BOOM a rising yearling and likely bound for a yearling sale in 2020.

A fan favourite, KINKY BOOM is located at the McEvoy Mitchell Flemington Stable and warrants an inspection. She has the potential to race on but would be an ideal breeding proposition ready for an early cover to the stallion of your choice in the upcoming breeding season.
