STOP PRESS: 12th October - DALAKHANI's daughters produce both 2yo Group winners at Newmarket (UK) races. PINATUBO wins to Dewhurst Stakes (Group 1) to remain undefeated in 6 starts and wrap up the Champion European 2yo title, while MAX VEGA wins the Zetland Stakes (Group 3).

KATTY KHAN sold for $100,000 as a weanling. She is a good legged, well balanced mare standing approx 15.3/15.3 1/2 hands high. She also has a good temperament.

KATTY KHAN is by a class stallion in DALAKHANI, sire of over 400 winners, 53 stakes winners and $40 million in progeny earnings. He is currently represented by DALASAN, a Group 2 and Group 3 winner this season and the current Caulfield Guineas favourite.

Importantly it is as a broodmare sire that DALAKHANI is currently setting the world alight via the deeds of the recent 9 length Group 1 winner PINATUBO, Europe's highest rated 2yo (Timeform) in the past 20 years, as well as Japan's No.1 sprinter TOWER OF LONDON, winner of the Group 1 Nakayama Sprinters Stakes (Group 1) on the 29th September.

KATTY KHAN'S dam BRIDE SALAMA (by AL MAHER) was a Melbourne stakes placegetter and winner. She is now at stud in NZ. In 2018 she foaled a filly by RELIABLE MAN, and is due to foal to REDWOOD this season.

This is a very good NZ family, having produced Group 1 winners such as DROUGHT (VATC Caulfield Stakes), ABARIDY (VATC Caulfield Guineas), KIA MAIA (Auckland Cup), HERMINIA (Brisbane Cup) and KIA MAREA (ARC Easter Hcp), as well as Australian Group winners GELSOMINO (ATC Flight Stakes), MERCURY (STC Todman Slipper Trial), SHANGHAI WARRIOR (VRC Aurie's Star H) and VIA PENSIERO (ATC San Domenico Stakes).

Danny Williams (trainer) said KATTY KHAN has shown some good ability in her track gallops, however, hasn't been able to put it together on race day as yet, and her owners have decided to move her on. The purchaser can either choose to race on or retire to stud for this season.
