CHARTILLA
Beautiful big bodied Mare who throws spectacular correct types. She's by G1 winning European Sire, KING CHARLEMAGNE, who hails from the much sort after NUREYEV/NORTHERN DANCER line. She's a half to the Stakes winner, GALVANIZED, who has produced one of the best juvenile Fillies Tasmania has seen, in multiple Stakes winner, HOT DIPPED. She was recently knocked down for 180K as a Broodmare prospect & visited TRAPEZE ARTIST. Chartilla is closely related to other Stakes winners in LE BONSIR, CRAZY NEAUX, LA BELLA DAME, DAMSLEFLY & recent Stakes placed Gelding, FINE DANE.
She's had 5 foals to race for 4 winners including the multiple City winners TANKSTER (7 WINS - 2 METRO - 175K) & the very promising GREVISTE (3 WINS - 2 METRO - 178K), who unfortunately succumbed to injury early in his career. Her most recent foal by UNENCUMBERED, also looks highly promising with only a couple of starts to date & he looks a nice middle distance/stayer for the Maher & Eustice stable. He won his 2nd career start in gutsy fashion from a break, showing he's got a nice future a head of him.
CHARTILLA foaled down (01/09) an exceptional Chestnut Filly by SQUAMOSA ($6,600) this season. A beautifully balanced Filly with great bone, a lovely long striding walk & a gorgeous head - The photos & video speak for themselves. She's inherited the RORY'S JESTER side of her Grand Sire, NOT A SINGLE DOUBT, through her attractive chestnut color & distinctive blaze, noting that CHARTILLA'S 2 City winning foals are from DANEHILL line Stallions just like SQUAMOSA. He's a Sire on the rise & has only had 61 runners for 36 winners, which include 2 Stakes winners (KIWI IDA/ORDER OF COMMAND). An impressive return for a Stallion doing it the hard way with his quality of Mare lacking & his numbers low. These recent results have sharply improved his numbers & the quality he's received, breeders have switched onto him now & his books have dramatically improved over the last few seasons.
CHARTILLA also carries a 45 day positive (15/10 service date) to the multiple G1 winner & incredibly good sort, PALENTINO ($17,600). I had the privilege of inspecting him earlier in the season & I was blown away by his presence & masculinity. A real Bull with glamorous looks & impeccable conformation. He was a superstar & his recent Weanling results have been fantastic, where he averaged 36K, with a top lot of 75K. I have no doubt he'll be extremely popular at the Yearling sales next year & will fetch big prices. The mating with CHARTILLA is an enticing one, especially when you look at her recent SQUAMOSA Filly & how good the next one could potentially be. The pedigree mating was matched by renowned pedigree analyst, Kristen Manning, so not only on type is this an exciting pairing, it's a pedigree match chosen by an expert with an excellent reputation & proven results.
