Description
Tam O’Shanter – three-year-old filly, being sold as a breeding prospect.
Tam O’Shanter looked to be developing into an exciting racehorse however, an injury to her stifle has ended her racing career. She is kind natured and has been a pleasure to have in the stable.
By five-time Champion Sire Savabeel (Zabeel), who is now making an impact as a broodmare sire, she carries a pedigree cross through her sire lines to Sir Ivor (sire of legendary stallion Sir Tristram).
Typical of the stallion, rich in colour, with good size, strength, and quality, she is from a young mare by Champion Sire and leading broodmare sire Volksraad (Green Desert), and the family of Goodwood (Gr. 1, 1200m) winner Velocitea (Volksraad).
A half-sister to Tam O’Shanter, Piper (O’Reilly), showed very good attributes winning two trials before finishing runner-up on debut. Following an issue, the best of her was never seen.
Three generations of the family was bred by well respected breeders Shelley Frost and Raewyn Ramage.
