Description
Meteoric Lass - five-year-old mare, being sold as a breeding prospect and should hold appeal for any professional breeder on either side of the Tasman.
A filly that operated fresh, winning her first start as a three and four-year-old, she won three from 10, with two seconds, third, three fourths, and only finished further back once.
Purchased at the 2016 Gold Coast Yearling Sale, she is the fifth individual winner from Benatar (Distant Music), and half-sister to dual stakes winner Meteoroid (Northern Meteor), who scored eight times over 1200m/1400m in Australia. Her year younger half-brother, Ben Hercules (I Am Invincible), has won four from 13 and contested a Group Three race in Australia.
She carries a pedigree cross to Northern Dancer, Nijinsky II, and Wilkes.
Meteoric Lass is a mare that has always battled some low-grade lameness issues that have restricted her racing career - we certainly felt she was capable of gaining black type. Although nothing of major significance, a reoccurring suspensory issue in her right hind has curtailed her racing career.
Meteoric Lass has a lovely temperament and is a pleasure to have in our Matamata Stable.
