Description
ENTERTAINER has been identified by Champion Singapore Trainer, Mark Walker as an ideal type for Singapore Racing
Now a Three Year Old Gelding, ENTERTAINER was originally purchased as a Yearling at the 2018 Magic Million Yearling Sale for A150,000 as a Stallion prospect for a group of high profile owners. Trained by Chris Waller, they made a decision to geld him in January 2019 and after racing him four times October to December 2019 and deciding that he was not up to Sydney City class, he was put up for sale unreserved. Fortuna acquired ENTERTAINER at the December Inglis Online Sale. He is now agisting at Shipton Lodge in New South Wales awaiting to enter quarantine ahead of traveling to Singapore 20th February - after exiting quarantine in Singapore, he will be prepared to race by Fortuna’s Singapore Trainer Mark Walker and should be ready to have his first race in Singapore late May 2020. He has been fully vetted for Singapore and approved for entry into Singapore by the Malaysian Racing Authority
As a Three Year Old non winner ENTERTAINER (to whom we have given the stable name “Elvis”) will be eligible to contest Restricted Maiden Grade events in Singapore, a Grade which carries S$75,000 of prizemoney (approx. NZ$83,000). Once winning in that Grade, he will then be eligible to race in Novice Grade, a Grade which also carries S$75,000 of prizemoney (approx. NZ$83,000).
ENTERTAINER possesses an excellent pedigree. By the rising star Stallion, Zoustar (by Northern Meteor), the Sire of over 96 winners including 12 Stakes Winners from just three crops racing, he is the first foal out of the Mare, Laughing, a race winner in Sydney. Laughing is an imported mare from the USA and possesses a strong family pedigree with much black type.
Notable that ZOUSTAR was the leading Stallion by earnings in Singapore during the 2019 season and amazingly, he had six starters who all won and in total, won 14 races between them and was the leading Sire by earnings in the 2019 year.
Training & race history
ENTERTAINER was prepared by leading Sydney Trainer, Chris Waller and completely blitzed a trial field on September 30th 2019. He finished 2nd in his race day debut at the Gold Coast on 19th October over 1100 metres and then had three more starts over the next six weeks stepping up in trip each time finishing in 5th place twice and sixth place once
Physical type
A strong, well-proportioned, athletic Bay/Brown Gelding, standing 16.1 hands high and weighing 500 kgs, ENTERTAINER has the physical attributes to match his pedigree. Australian bred Sprinting types have an exceptional record in Singapore over the years, particularly those who have shown form on Australian race tracks.

“This horse really impressed me when I saw his trial video from 30th September – his race day debut for 2nd was good and I note that they kept stepping him up in trip after that, whereas it may well have suited the horse better to have been kept at 1100 to 1200 metre trips. I also noted that he had got quite light in condition during that campaign and it was apparent he needed a really good break. Since we acquired him he has been spelling on a New South Wales farm and has put on heaps of condition – just what he needed - he will come to hand really quickly once he arrives into my stable here and I believe he will be perfectly suited to racing in Singapore. Progeny of Zoustar have an amazing record here in Singapore – I have two of them in my barn and one of them, Altair, has now won four of his five starts in Singapore
