Description
A young city winning Northern Meteor mare who won over $100,000 on the track and is in foal with her third foal, Northern Saint hails from one of the best families in New Zealand with GRAND ECHEZEAUX, DARCI BRAHMA, BURGUNDY, ROMANEE CONTI and ETHEREAL all featuring in her pedigree. Her mother is a full sister to Flemington Group 2 winner BELLINI ROSE who in turn is the mother of Group 1 Derby winner HOWARD BE THY NAME. Northern Saint herself is a half sister to Daniel Bowman’s in form stakes placed 4yo mare GOLDEN HALO who was placed behind News Girl at Caulfield three weeks ago and will no doubt continue to chase stakes success.
Northern Saint is in foal to Newgate Farm’s former horse of the year DISSIDENT who covered over 200 mares per year average in his first four seasons at stud at a fee of $33,000. His oldest horses are only three and he is the sire of stakes winner PANCHO and Group 1 placed filly FOXBOROUGH.
Northern Saint is being sold by a prominent Rosemont client who is reducing his breeding interests in order to focus on his day job which may or may not include winning trainers premierships.
