Description
A young So You Think mare out of a Galileo mare out of a Danehill mare, out of a Storm Bird mare, from a female line which has been able to consistently produce Champion racehorses. Sells in foal to exciting Newgate Farm stallion Extreme Choice (one cover).
Superego was placed four times at Victorian Provincial race meetings.

Superego is a daughter to Champion racehorse and top-class stallion So You Think, who has ranked in the top ten active Australian stallions for the past three seasons.
Superego has three half sisters at stud. One of them, Shamardal Gold’s yearling colt by Hinchinbrook, last year sold for $360,000 at the Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.
Her dam Keep De Fortune is by one of the world’s most dominant stallions in Galileo. Champion UK/Ire Sire 11 times. Sire of 313 Stakes Winners including an astonishing 84 Group 1 winners. Now a leading Broodmare Sire in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
Superego is a grand-daughter of Champion Australian 3-year-old filly Danendri, a daughter of another of the world’s most dominant stallions in Danehill. Dam of 8 winners including the Stakes Winners Zingam and Banc de Fortune, and grand-dam of Champion Australian 3-year-old filly Faint Perfume.
This is a family which continues to churn out new black type performers with no fewer than three new BT horses in the past twelve months – Roy Had Enough (Group 3 winner in South Africa), Chains of Honour (Group 3 winner in Brisbane) and recent Group 2 place getter Good Idea (2nd SAJC Adelaide Cup).
Superego is due to foal this September to the well credentialled dual Group 1 winning sprinter Extreme Choice (by Not A Single Doubt) – 2019 advertised fee was $22,000. Extreme Choice’s first crop of yearlings have been exceedingly popular at this year’s sales selling for $180,000, $190,000, $200,000 (twice), $210,000, $280,000 and $310,000. Importantly they will head into the stables of Chris Waller, Maher & Eustace (4), Anthony Freedman, Mick Price (3), Peter & Paul Snowden (2), etc, etc.
Extreme Choice’s fertility issues are well documented, and he covered only 65 mares in 2019. Should his progeny perform with distinction on the track, the purchaser of this mare will have the added luxury of knowing that at the 2022 yearling sales they will not have to compete with many other sons and daughters of Extreme Choice.
Superego stands approximately 16.1 hands high. She is a healthy mare and is easy to handle and manage. She has been seen to windsuck.
