Description
High class race mare Gabbidon is a dual Group 3 winner and proven producer by Bel Esprit. On the race track, she was immensely talented, winning the 1000 Guineas Prelude by 1.75 lengths, and was favourite for the 1000 Guineas although was scratched prior to the race.
Currently, as a producer, talented Diamonds And Rust (3f. Medaglia d’Oro) won a race at Canterbury in December by 2.3 lengths after two seconds in Sydney. Waterhouse & Bott then sent her to the Gold Coast for the $250,000 Wave where she ran a great race after leading from an outside barrier beaten only 2.7 at WFA. She was a $200,000 yearling and is in the stables of Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott now back in work. As testament to the regard with which they have for Diamonds And Rust, the stable purchased her very nice Air Force Blue yearling filly for $150,000 at the 2020 Magic Millions Yearling Sale.
Her Easter catalogued two-year-old, Markievicz (Starspangledbanner) is in the stables of Anthony Cummings and is very highly regarded and was also a lovely physical.
Gabbidon also has a quality Vancouver weanling colt located at Coolmore. He will most likely be offered at the Magic Millions in 2021. She was covered once late in the season after 6 foals in a row.
