Description

Snow Pixie is a commercial mare with an international pedigree and a lot of upside.

An attractive mare who has thrown 2 lovely foals to Rommel. The yearling filly (photo above) sold well in Perth this year and the weanling colt is a ripper and will be retained by the owner. She is 15.3hh and of strong build with correct conformation. This is a very active family with her 4 time winning half sister She Brings Hope (by Sebring) foaling a filly by Extreme Choice in 2019 and covered by Menari and her dam (Davala) having a 2yo colt by Time for War and a yearling colt by Sooboog.

She is in foal to Safeguard who is clearly one of the most exciting additions to the WA stallion ranks for some years.

He:

• is a dual Group winning son of EXCEED AND EXCEL, considered the world’s greatest sire of 2 year olds;

• is out of PRESERVE (by CANNY LAD) who was a Group 1 winner at two and ranked the second top filly of her generation AND a half-sister to DENMAN, also a Group One winner and sire; and

• has a Golden Slipper winner in each of his first four (4) generations and a pedigree very similar to the 2019 Golden Slipper winner, KIAMICHI.

And he could run! Safeguard won his first three starts including the Group 3 ATC Kindergarten Stakes and the Group 3 MRC Vain Stakes, before going down narrowly in the Group 2 VRC Danehill Stakes.

While he had limited numbers, his results have been excellent. His first crop (now 3yo) statistics from 30 live foals has seen 29 named, 21 raced for 13 winners (62% winners to runners) and 5 placed. Add to that his two high class stakes performers in Miss West Coast and Specialism and you can see why he was the 2019 Champion 2yo and First Season sire in WA. His progeny has won from 1000m to 1600m on all types of going and are training on as three year olds. And the story continues with his current crop of two year olds…
