Description
THE LIONS RULE (NZ) is a multiple winning mare by VIKING RULER out of the Group placed multiple winning SUCCESS EXPRESS (USA) mare FOREVER DANCING (NZ). Viking Ruler is the broodmare sire of 84 individual winners, including the dual Group winner SIRCCONI and the Group 2 winner STEEL ROSE (NZ). He has a strike rate of 56% winners to runners as broodmare sire. Forever Dancing is the dam of no fewer than 7 winners, including the Stakes winner THOUSAND VEILS who is the dam of the multiple Group winner PERAST.
The Lion’s Rule is the dam of MERIDIAN TALENT, who was sold for $60,000 as a yearling before being sold to Hong Kong for $150,000 at the Ready to Run sale. Unfortunately, her yearling filly is deceased, but last year she produced a cracking good filly by RESET that is being retained by the owners. In the 2019 breeding season, The Lions Rule was served by ADELAIDE (IRE) and went in foal on her first cover. Adelaide is a Group 1 winner in both the USA and Australia, taking out the Secretariat Stakes and the W S Cox Plate respectively. He is the sire of the Group 1 winning filly FUNSTAR from his first crop and his yearlings have sold for up to $210,000.
