Description
A consistent race mare who showed good heart winning three races with a further eight placings to her credit, Chastened has three foals (by Rubick and Your Song) ready to represent her and aged just nine, she has plenty of upside.
Being sold with an October 21 service to Deep Impact's highly rated son Real Steel, Chastened is a daughter of the globe-trotting multiple Gr.1 winning sprinter/miler Choisir who has proven himself to be such a classy and reliable stallion with his 95 stakes winners including 11 Gr.1 winners.
Already doing a great job as a broodmare sire, Choisir has been well represented by 16 stakes winners including the big race winners Winter, My Dream Boat and Persuasive.
Chastened is out of the Flying Spur mare Decantered who is still at stud, last spring served by Arrowfield Stud's popular young stallion Showtime. Her grandam is the dual city winning Dehere mare De Canny, full sister to the speedy stakes winner De Lollies.
Hailing from the family of Gr.1 Goodwood Handicap winner Mighty Avenger, Chastened does have colostrum production issues (see vet report) but has had no fertility issues. The foal being carried by her is bred on the same highly successful Deep Impact/Danehill cross as the Gr.1 gallopers Saxon Warrior, Mikki Isle, Danon Premium and Satono Ares... and 12 other stakes winners.
