Description
SELVAMANI is by outstanding broodmare sire O’REILLY, who is leading the way in New Zealand this season with 61 winners and 83 wins (to July 18). He is 13 wins clear of his nearest rival, champion brood mare sire ZABEEL.
SELVAMANI is from winning SAVABEEL mare SURIYAN who is a half sister to 2yo Group winner MAGIC DANCER and Group 1 placed MANTEN.
SELVAMANI is in foal to Arrowfield Stud’s MIKKI ISLE, son of the legendary DEEP IMPACT. MIKKI ISLE was the champion Sprinter and Miler of Japan in 2016. He had 8 wins, 2 at 2 and 2 at the elite Group 1 level, being the Kyoto Mile Championship and the Tokyo NHK Mile Cup. He was also a dual Group 2 winner, a dual Group 3 winner and he was a gallant second in two Group 1s. MIKKI ISLE began his southern hemisphere stud duties in 2017 and his first crop of yearlings sold up to $250,000. MIKKI ISLE sired his first winner in Japan in early July and his first southern hemisphere runners are eagerly awaited in the new season.
SELVAMANI is an attractive mare and has plenty of scope to grow a good size foal. She has good conformation and is approximately 16 hands. She is easy to handle around the farm and good in the crush or truck.
