Description

This colt is by the multiple Group 1 winner and Champion European Three-Year-Old ALMANZOR (FR) and is out of the Group 3 winning REDOUTE’S CHOICE mare ALZORA. Almanzor was a Stakes winning 2yo before winning three Group 1 races in his 3yo season, including the Group 1 Ascot Champion Stakes. His oldest southern hemisphere progeny are foals and he has already had weanlings sell in France for up to €260,000.

Alzora is by the Champion Broodmare Sire Redoute’s Choice. Redoute’s Choice is the broodmare sire of 17 individual Group 1 winners, including TREKKING, SUPER SETH, REGAL POWER etc. His strike rate as a broodmare sire is currently at 67%. Alzora was the winner of the Group 3 Vanity Stakes at Flemington and the Listed Ethereal Stakes at Caulfield. She is the dam of this season’s Listed VRC St Leger winner SACRAMENTO.

This colt is a big, strong sort who looks like he will mature into a tough staying sort, just like his 3yo half-brother Sacramento. On the 27th of July he weighed 401kgs and stood 154cm tall.

He was inspected by Simon Vivian & Mark Dodemaide from the Inglis Melbourne Bloodstock team on the 30th of July.
