Description
PALM DOVE is by the Group 2 winning sire CHURCHILL DOWNS who is by the multiple Champion Sire DANEHILL. Churchill Downs was a Stakes winning 2yo, winning the Listed Widden Stakes before running 3rd in the Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes. As a 3yo he won the Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes before running 3rd in the Group 1 Ascot Vale Stakes. He is the sire of Group winners CHURCHILL DANCER, GIRL GUIDE, GOLD FIELDS, KILLUA CASTLE etc. From limited opportunities as a broodmare sire so far, his winners to runners for fillies currently sits at over 56%.
Palm Dove is out of the multiple city winning BELLOTTO (USA) mare LOTTEY. Lottey is the dam of Group winners BESAME MUCHO and GOLD LOTTEY who have both gone on to produce Stakes winners including ICONOCLASM ($927,915), FRESPANOL ($564,115) and ESSINGTON ($350,050). Lottey is also the granddam of multiple Group winner and Group 1 placed KILLUA CASTLE. Palm Dove placed three times in her six career starts and has since produced three foals at stud. Her first foal is an unraced 3yo colt by MANHATTAN RAIN and she has a yearling filly by the same stallion that has been retained.
Palm Dove is a strong, compact style of mare and is being sold with her third foal at foot, a neat, tidy filly by TURFFONTEIN. Turffontein is the sire of six individual Stakes winners including fillies the calibre of multiple Group winning millionaire FONTEIN RUBY, multiple Group winning juvenile FONTITON and the Flemington Group winner LYUBA. His weanlings have been sold for up to $82,000 and his yearlings have realised up to $170,000. The aforementioned Fontiton was sold as a filly off the track for $1.1million. The cross of Turffontein over Danehill granddaughters currently strikes at over 71% winners to runners.
Palm Dove had a reproductive examination on foal heat on the 11th of August. She was clean and healthy and is ready to be bred to the stallion of your choice this season.
