Description
A home bred for Rosemont Stud, Smartestintheroom is an unraced 3yo filly who showed exceptional early promise and was sent to the stable of Clinton McDonald but has unfortunately suffered a suspensory injury and is now offered for sale as a breeding prospect.
Smartestintheroom is by Rosemont stallion NOSTRADAMUS who has started the new season in exceptional fashion and currently sits second on the second-season sire premiership behind Coolmore’s Pride of Dubai. He is the sire of the exciting Perth 3yo filly CLAIRVOYANCE who is unbeaten in three starts and appears destined for some of Australia’s bigger races.
Her mother Belle Melba was a terrific race filly, notching victories as a three year old at her first two starts before going on to a pair of city class 1100m wins at Morphetville in a brief 12 start career. Retired to Rosemont and a breeding career, she became a foundation mare for Rosemont’s new sire NOSTRADAMUS and now boasts three impressive foals by that stallion, with all foals have been retained by Rosemont and partners to race.
There is further pedigree upside through Belle Melba’s winning half sister So Hard To Catch, whose first two foals are by leading sire I AM INVINCIBLE – a yearling filly and a colt born just last week.
