Description
OAKSASTAR is a beautifully put together four-year-old by stallion sensation Zoustar. She has recorded a win and four placings from 10 starts, two of which came during her most recent preparation.
Her win saw her put in excess of three lengths on a field which included four subsequent winners and over a trip short of her optimum. Her pedigree also indicates she has the potential to be a cracking broodmare prospect at the end of her racing career.
Oaksastar is out of a winning half-sister to three stakes performers, including Listed winner and Group 2 placegetter WELLINGTON.
She is also a direct descendant of French Group 1 winner OAK HILL, whose notable progeny includes stakes winner OAK DANCER and Banakill – the dam of multiple Group 1 runner-up OBRIGADO and dual Group 3 winner Coupe De Champe.
OAK HILL is also a three-quarter sister to French Derby hero and subsequent stallion SASSAFRAS, who famously upset UK Triple Crown hero NIJINSKY to win the Group 1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe - a race widely considered to be the best staying contest in the world.
