Description
Silver Kick is a striking grey mare who boasts an active pedigree littered with black-type. She is a half-sister to three stakes performers, spearheaded by the high-class Group 3 winner BIG PARTY, who was beaten just 2.8L in the Group 2 Premier Bowl at Sha Tin on Sunday.
She is also a half-sister to the Group 3-placed General Groove and the multiple Group-placed Top Me Up, whose two runs as a juvenile saw him finish second on debut in a Blue Diamond Preview and fourth in a Blue Diamond Prelude.
Precocious enough herself to run at the first official 2YO trials in Sydney, Silver Kick is out of the unraced mare De Groove, who boasts a 100% winners to runners strike rate. De Groove is also a sibling to three stakes horses, most notably the multiple Group winner and Group 1 Galaxy Handicap runner-up TAIKUN.
Silver Kick’s second dam, Tyrises – a half-sister to the stakes winner/producer PURPLE GROOVE and a daughter of Blue Diamond Prelude winner IRISES - also boasts a 100% winners to runners strike rate.
This mare hails from a family that consistently produces precocious, black-type horses. She is by a son of reigning Champion Broodmare Sire Redoute’s Choice and would make a cracking addition to any broodmare band.
Silver Kick is presented as broodmare only, as she has recently been diagnosed with Kissing Spine and is not suitable for riding. We have been advised by the vet that horses suffering with kissing spines do not appear to experience pain once ridden exercise ceases, and broodmares with kissing spines do not appear to behave differently from broodmares with normal spinous process spaces.
