Description
MARE AND FOAL PACKAGE – Denman Mare with Rich Enuff filly at foot.
Blackberry is a winning daughter of Denman and a stunning looking mare. She fills the eye, standing at 16hh and has a beautiful physique with a deep girth, strong shoulder and hindquarter and good feet.
Offered for sale as a package, Blackberry has foaled a bay filly by Rich Enuff at foot (DOB: 20/08/20). She is a lovely big first foal with great quality and strength, however, is a touch straight in her pasterns (as you will see in the photos) but is coming down nicely and strengthening up well.
Blackberry is a half-sister to the Listed placed DRAW FORWARD who is the dam of the very promising last start winner, METEORITE, trained by Tony and Calvin McEvoy.
Meteorite is all class and drew away to win the 955m 55 Second Challenge at The Valley by 5L. The 4yo smashed the course record, clocking a sizzling 54.54 seconds, beating the previous best of 54.69 seconds recorded by Vatican in February 2013.
The McEvoy stable have been impressed by the family and are looking forward to seeing Meteorite’s 2yo half-brother PEGASI (by Star Turn) hit the track this season.
Blackberry’s dam Lashante is a half-sister to the well performed ADALINE who won the G2 ARC Royal Stakes and placed second in the G1 ARC New Zealand Stakes and G2 Eight Carat Classic.
The family also includes CROSSYOURHEART who was crowned top filly of the NZ 2yo list in the 2006-07 season and is the dam of G3 Ming Dynasty winner and G1 Spring Champion stakes second placegetter SWEAR (by Redoute’s Choice), who is now at stud in Victoria.
Blackberry has no known vices and is a wonderful mother. She is a lovely natured mare, easy to keep and is well behaved for the vet and farrier.
