Description
STREETS OF LIBERTY was an extremely fast, on pace race filly who faced the starter on 4 occasions as a 2-year-old. After a debut second at Cranbourne (1000m), she then blew away her opposition with a demoralising all the way 3.25 lengths victory at Geelong (1000m), followed by a 2.75 length romp in an Adelaide Saturday race (1050m), before seeing out her season with a fourth (beaten just under 3 lengths) on a Heavy 8 at Moonee Valley as a $2.60 favourite.

STREETS OF LIBERTY’S sire STATUE OF LIBERTY has been a prolific sire of winners, with his tally presently standing at 604. His notable performers have included the top-class sprinter HAY LIST, as well as millionaires WONDER LIDER ($3.0 million), KIKUNO STORM ($1.7 million), ACTIVE MINORU ($1.9 million), STAR EXHIBIT ($1.5 million), CHIAROSCURO ($1.5 million), SUN GRASS ($1.4 million) and MR RIGHT ($1.1 million). He is the Broodmare Sire of Irish Group 1 winning 2-year-old RIZEENA, recent Dubai Group 2 winning 3-year-old filly SUMMER ROMANCE, and last season’s smart Group 3 winning 2-year-old MILDRED, as well as Melbourne Listed Race winning filly BROADWAYANDFOURTH.

STREETS OF LIBERTY’S dam CHINNER STREET, is a Sydney winning daughter of the influential stallion HUSSONET, broodmare sire of over 20 Group 1 winners, including in 2020 alone KING’S LEGACY, ROTHFIRE and TYZONE. CHINNER STREET has a 2019 colt by DEEP FIELD and was covered in 2020 by FLYING ARTIE. Her granddam is a Melbourne winner by the greatest stallion in living memory DANEHILL. These are obviously particularly strong bloodlines.

STREETS OF LIBERTY is closely related to Group winners BRIGHTEXPECTATIONS (by MORE THAN READY) and THE GREY FLASH (by NOT A SINGLE DOUBT). This is one of the strongest female lines in the Australian Stud Book, her 5th dam being DARK QUEEN, dam of Champion racehorse TAJ ROSSI (WS Cox Plate, VRC Derby). Other notables to descend from DARK QUEEN include SAINTLY (Australian Horse of the Year), DARK ECLIPSE (Golden Slipper), DENMAN (Golden Rose), and KIAMICHI (Golden Slipper). In the past 12 months this family has thrown up new stakes winners DAWN DAWN (Group 2 Sydney winner), ZOU DANCER (Group 3 Melbourne winner) and BRIX (a Listed 2-year-old winner in NZ this season), meaning the mares from this family still have plenty to give.

STREETS OF LIBERTY is the dam of two foals to date. A 2019 filly by the highly successful stallion SMART MISSILE (her current owner plans to race) and a 2020 filly by the up and coming stallion WINNING RUPERT (foaled 23rd September). On both occasions these were straight forward foalings. Her 2020 filly is a particularly nice strong sprinting type (see attached photo and video) and the plan is that she’ll head to the 2022 yearling sales. The mare was not covered in the 2020 season purely for economic reasons, the same reason she is being offered now for unreserved sale, as her owner has made the decision to disperse all of their breeding stock.

STREETS OF LIBERTY stands approximately 15.3 ½ hands high. You can see from the attached video she is a great type and is currently in tremendous health and condition.
