Description
A proven broodmare from a high class New Zealand family, IMMORTALIZE is a daughter of the brilliant Stradbroke Handicap winner Thorn Park who, having done such a great job at stud, is now making his mark as a broodmare sire.
The winner of nine of his 22 starts, the regally bred Thorn Park (by Spinning World from the prolific Denise's Joy family) sired 28 stakes winners during his highly successful stud career, one which saw him produce 71.7% winners-to-runners with an impressive 6.5% stakes winner strike rate.
The sire of seven Gr.1 winners, Thorn Park is continuing on the good work with his daughters who have already produced five stakes winners including the Gr.1 winning speedster Exceedance. His seven times Gr.1 winning sire Spinning World (a Nureyev descendant of the legendary matriarch Best In Show) has also proven to be a fine broodmare sire influence with 42 stakes winners.
Showing ability in just three starts, IMMORTALIZE has been visiting successful and commercial stallions and already has the score on the board with her first two foals being winners whilst her three-year-old Big Andy impressed with a Doomben trial victory for the Kelly Schweida stable on Tuesday.
There is more to come for IMMORTALIZE with a Rubick two-year-old, a Star Turn yearling and an eye-catching Territories filly - her best foal to date (link to video https://youtu.be/YZV-G83-fe0 ). And she will be ready to go nice and early this year having been given a season off by her owners. Current breeding certificate included - IMMORTALIZE has been a dream to mate, producing 6 consecutive foals. The vet has noted on the Breeding Certificate that she has some swelling in her front knees which is a reflection of arthritic changes as she is ageing. IMMORTALIZE is sound and has never had to be treated for her arthritis.
IMMORTALIZE is out of the Rosehill winner Perpetuate, daughter of Bletchingly's dual Gr.1 winning successful sire son Lord Ballina. Also dam of the terrific race mare Ballet Master (43 starts, eight wins including Randwick, Sandown and Caulfield), she is a full sister to the high class galloper Cent Home.
As adaptable (saluting over a variety of distances from 1200m to 2040m) as he was talented, Cent Home won 12 of his 39 starts including two of New Zealand's biggest races, the Kelt Capital Stakes and the Captain Cook Stakes. And he was competitive with the best whilst racing in Australia, finishing in the thick of things with the likes of Sunline and Northerly.
Perpetuate's dam Centuria by Century's outstanding son Centaine also produced the four times Group winner Ballet Society (in turn dam of the four times Group winning three-year-old Dame Giselle - who still has so much to offer - and grandam of the stakes winning juvenile Steal My Kisses) and the Turnbull Stakes winner Studebaker (also by Lord Ballina).
This is a strong branch of one of the world's best families, one which IMMORTALIZE is line-bred to - that which produced her great grandsire Nureyev. A descendant of the acclaimed matriarch Simon's Shoes, IMMORTALIZE can also boast amongst her relations the breed-shaping stallions Sadler's Wells, Fairy King and Thatching.
