This stunning gelding by “Nicconi” is offered for unreserved sale due to no fault of his own.
“Niccosmile” last prep had 3 runs for a 3rd, 2nd and then a strong win in Queensland company as favourite taking his earnings for the 1 prep to $17,000 for 3 starts.
A perfect opportunity presents itself to purchase a last start Winning Gelding who has clearly found his pattern and form for a fraction of what he should fetch at sale. All he needs is time.
My clients purchased “Niccosmile” and discovered that at some stage in the past the horse had injured a tendon as there was slight bowing present (see image for transparency) this was sold to my client unnoticed/undetected and it wasn’t picked up on until the horse was brought into my stables to start its first race preparation in my stable. The tendon has been scanned and the veterinarian has stated that there has been healing on ultrasound; however the horse needs around another 3-6 months further to heal before returning to work to give this gelding a full chance at going on with it and going through his grades, which to my knowledge, I certainly can’t see any reason why the horse couldn’t achieve this; he’s found form, a good racing pattern and the correct company to be in, all the horse needs is time and unfortunately my clients don’t have the patience for this and would prefer to be racing them.
He is a very bright, well carried horse, he seems very quiet to my knowledge. “Niccosmile” never leaves a grain of feed and has fit into the stable extremely well, I’ve had him ticking over on the walker until the current owners decided weather they wanted to wait out a spell or if they wanted to move him on and find something that’s already in work ready to run. Unfortunately my owners came to the conclusion that they would rather buy into a horse that’s already in work with another trainer being sold as they don’t have the patience and would rather be at the races now.
I’ve attached photos of the horse whilst in my care, including clear confirmation photos and can provide videos upon request as well. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
I’d be more than happy to train this horse for the new owners as to my knowledge and thus far the horse simply needs time for the tendon, he is genuinely untried in my care and I don’t know much more about him than what I’ve already stated due to not having him long, with everything in mind I see no reason why I wouldn’t want to train this horse personally, and I welcome any further vet checks
