LOVE MY CASHEWS
What an outstanding start the Blue Diamond/Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Star Witness has made to his career as a broodmare sire - just seven winners so far with four winners already, one of those being the Gr.3 winner Bella Nipotina, another the highly promising 3Y0 Cumberbatch.
A classy stallion represented by 19 stakes winners including the Gr.1 winner Global Glamour and the emerging stallion Star Turn, Star Witness won four of his 13 starts, amassing in excess of $1.3 million in stakes. His progeny have won over $45 million and he has had winners in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau.
Lightly raced with plenty of natural ability, Love My Cashews charged home to win over 1100m at her Gosford debut, impressing all the more at her next start - taking over with 250m to go in a Kembla Grange 1200m contest and racing away to win by 4 1/2 lengths.
A close up Warwick Farm third at her next and final outing, Love My Cashews was not served last spring having produced a colt by Love Conquers All.
One of three winners produced by the Royal Academy mare Cashew, Love My Cashews hails from a prolific local family, able to boast amongst her relations the Gr.1 winners Gamine and Sun Classique as well as the legendary stallion Century.
Other members of this family include the stakes winners Flak Jacket, Fouardee, Sojustrememberthis, Royal Voyage and My Vegas and there is still plenty of upside to this family with close relations of Love My Cashews in recent times visiting such classy stallions as Astern, Vancouver, Menari, Churchill, Brutal and Rubick.
