For a variety of reasons we need to significantly scale back the size of our operation. We have progressively sold 35% of our horses over the past 11 months. Platinum Rocker is a continuation of this process and others will follow in coming months.
Platinum Rocker was a proper race mare. She did what only good horses do by winning on debut. She then went on to amass over $600k in prize money.
She possesses that rare commodity that the Australian yearling buyers most desperately seek on a pedigree page – BLACK TYPE speed. She raced 5 times in 1200m Group and Listed races for a win, two seconds, a third and a fifth.
She is a multiple stakes winner whom was tough and versatile enough to race in three different states: Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland. She showed she had the ability and temperament to take it all in her stride as she was multiple stakes placed in each of the states she raced in. She was also tough enough to stretch her natural speed out to 1400m where she both won and placed at stakes level and then in her career peak performance she was a brave runner up, beaten only 0.5 length, in the time honoured Group 1 WATC Railway Stakes over 1600m.
She won 8 times and placed a further 8 times in only 24 career starts.
Her 2020 foal, an Impending filly, is her best to date. We have retained that filly along with the 2017 Toronado filly.
Platinum Rocker is ready for a nice early cover as she was not served in 2020. As per attached Breeding Soundness Certificate, there was absolutely no issue with her. It was a simply a case of us having to cut back due to the cash flow impact of physical weanling sales being cancelled for Victorians. In actual fact, we did not serve any of our mares in 2020.
Platinum Rocker’s pedigree includes blue hen mare, Eight Carat along with positive speed influences in Danehill, Star Kingdom, Last Tycoon and Pago Pago. Pago Pago is a hidden gem in her pedigree. He was the winner of 9 straight races as a 2yo including the Golden Slipper.
