WALLARIE is the first foal out of Group 3 winner and dual Group 1 placed mare SCRATCHY BOTTOM. She herself is a daughter of the late, great SEBRING and this colt is bred in the purple.
He’s by the sensational sire I AM INVINCIBLE. He himself was a brilliant sprinter – five wins at 1000, 1100 metres and $270,050 in prizemoney – Group 3 SAJC DC McKay Stakes, Listed MRC Sir John Monash Stakes and second to Takeover Target in the Group 1 SAJC Goodwood Handicap.
WALLARIE’s suspensory ligament injury prevented him from having a proper preparation in training until March/April 2021. He was a big, heavy colt which restricted us somewhat and as such he was gelded on 3rd May 2021. We took him as far as we could last preparation, trying to get him as educated as possible to make up for the time lost in the paddock as he recuperated. He did progress to completing some three-quarter pacework before then having some recurring foot abscesses which held him up for a couple of weeks before he spelled. Fingers crossed we can have a clear run with him now that he’s gelded, as he’s a lovely style of horse who’s bred to make up into a smart racehorse.
April 2020 NF & OF Suspensory Lesions. Had 6 months in the paddock and has been back in training at Randwick since 12th March.
