SANDS OF NAKAJIMA is being sold as a broodmare prospect only due to a recurring suspensory ligament issue. Having won a number of jump outs at Mornington she only had the two race day starts. She was beaten a head on debut by the promising Lani Bang Bang, before finishing fifth in a strong maiden behind city class gallopers Jay Gatsby and Flash Flood. Her trainer Logan McGill assessed her as having city class ability.
By exceptional young sire DEEP FIELD, she is out of Unplayable, an unraced three quarter sister to Singapore champion and now successful NZ stallion SUPER EASY. Unplayable is a granddaughter of blue hen broodmare PARFORE, and is the half sister to boom QLD galloper SKINS (5 wins from just 8 starts) and the group placed Sydney city winner OSCAR ZULU.
From a future breeding perspective there remains significant upside in the pedigree. A weanling half brother to Unplayable sold for $155K at the recent Gold Coast National Weanling Sale. Unplayable herself has fillies by Divine Prophet and Cable Bay still to run for her, and is in foal to Toronado.
