Description
TEMPTING is a beautiful mare by DANE SHADOW out of the WOODMAN mare RAVENSWOOD. Indicative of her stunning physical, TEMPTING was a $560,000 Easter yearling.
Standing just shy of 16hh she is a quality mare who throws a lovely foal, with her first colt by PIERRO having sold for $145,000 as a weanling and her most recent foal by SEBRING sold for $120,000 at this year’s Melbourne Premier sale. From her three named foals, she has had two winners.
By DANE SHADOW, TEMPTING is a full sister to million-dollar broodmare and outstanding race horse HURTLE MYRTLE who won and placed in 11 stakes racing, taking out the G1 VRC Myer Classic as well as the ATC Sapphire Stakes and G2 BRC Dane Ripper Stakes. She then went on to produce $800,000 yearling and two-time G3 winner HOLYFIELD (by I AM INVINCIBLE).
TEMPTING’s dam RAVENSWOOD is a half-sister to the stakes winning WHISPER BAY who has produced Listed SAJC Queen Adelaide Stakes winner INDIAN THUNDER. The family also includes HE’LL HAUNT US who won the G3 MRC Zedative Stakes before being sold to Hong Kong where he now races as CIRCUIT SIX.
TEMPTING has a lovely nature, is easy to catch, good in the crush and nice with other mares within a herd. This mare has required front shoes on occasion; but her feet are in good order as of writing this. She is currently in foal to OVERSHARE on an early cover (DLS: 10/09/2020) with the resulting foal being a close relation to HOLYFIELD.
OVERSHARE is a beautifully bred son of I AM INVINCIBLE out of a Group-placed REDOUTE’S CHOICE mare currently standing at Spendthrift in Victoria. Overshare had yearlings purchased up to $180,000 last season and his oldest progeny will be two-year-olds this coming August and are placed in some of the top stables in the country including the likes of Hawkes Racing and McEvoy Mitchell Racing.
