Description
This yearling filly is by the Group 1 winning sire MANHATTAN RAIN. Manhattan Rain is by the multiple Champion Sire ENCOSTA DE LAGO and was the winner of the Group 1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes as a 2yo before running second in the Group 1 WS Cox Plate as a 3yo. He is the sire of 15 individual Group and/or Stakes winners, including the Group 1 ATC Golden Slipper winner and Australian Champion 2yo SHE WILL REIGN ($3,206,900), South African Group 1 winner WHISKY BARON and the Group winning fillies/mares WILD RAIN ($841,067) SCARLET RAIN ($341,375), JAMAICAN RAIN ($463,450) etc.
This filly is out of the winning BEL ESPRIT mare MISS GREY GOOSE. Bel Esprit is the broodmare sire of 3 individual Group 1 winners, including Hong Kong superstar BEAUTY GENERATION and this season’s dual Group 1 winning 3yo OLE KIRK. He is also the broodmare sire of Group 1 winning filly COSTA VIVA, as well as the Group winning fillies SWAT’S THAT, HUMMA HUMMA etc. Miss Grey Goose is from the direct female family of Group 1 winner QUICK FLICK ($1,292,773) and the Group 2 placed, multiple Stakes winner SUPER ESPION ($302,150). Miss Grey Goose has produced two foals to race, including this season’s debut winner PICARDY and the multiple placegetter SNIPER STRIKE.
This filly had a Check Ligament Desmotomy performed on her left foreleg back in December 2019 from which she made a full recovery. She is well handled and waiting to be broken in and tried.
