Description
EMERGE is a 10yr old multiple metro placed mare by the Group 1 winning sire STRATUM. Stratum was a dual Group winner as a 2yo, taking out the Group 2 STC Pago Pago Stakes before backing up to win the coveted Group 1 STC Golden Slipper Stakes a week later. As a broodmare sire, his daughters have already produced the Group 3 winner and multiple Group placed MOSS TRIP ($593,085) and the Group 3 winner ENTENTE ($574,765). He is currently at almost 60% winners to runners as a broodmare sire.
Emerge is out of the Australian Champion 2yo and multiple Group 1 winning MARAUDING (NZ) mare BURST. Burst won the 2yo Triple Crown in 1992, taking out the Group 1 STC Golden Slipper Stakes, Group 1 AJC Champagne Stakes and Group 1 AJC Sires’ Produce Stakes. She was placed a further five times at Group 1 level throughout her career. Emerge is a half-sister to the dams of multiple Group 2 winner ÉCLAIR CHOICE and Group 3 winner and multiple Group placed WINTER BURST. This is the direct female family of South African Group 1 winner VERNICHEY.
Emerge has produced two foals that have gone through a sale ring so far. Her first foal, a filly by DISSIDENT, sold for $150,000 at the 2018 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, before her second foal, a filly by SO YOU THINK (NZ) named GOOD OMENS, sold for $360,000 at the 2019 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale. Good Omens is now in the stable of leading trainer Chris Waller and was metro placed on her debut before winning over 1500m in April 2021. Emerge has a weanling filly, also by SO YOU THINK (NZ), that is being retained by her breeder.
Emerge has been scanned in foal on a 23 September cover to American Triple Crown winner and multiple Group 1 producing sire AMERICAN PHAROAH (USA). American Pharoah became the first horse in history to win the Grand Slam of US Thoroughbred Racing after completing the 3YO Triple Crown and the Group 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic in the same season. He is now the sire of 3 individual Group 1 winners across 3 different countries from only 3 crops of racing age in the Northern Hemisphere, including HARVEY’S LIL GOIL (USA), VAN GOGH (USA) and CAFÉ PHAROAH (USA). Southern Hemisphere bred yearlings have sold for up to $850,000 while his weanlings have reached up to $250,000.
