Standing at 15.2hh A winner on her 2yo debut at Moonee Valley, Something Violet is an attractive mare by Commands, an $80,000 yearling. Beaten less than two lengths at stakes level, she is a mare who had well above average ability at the racetrack. She is a half sister to the multiple winner and stakes placed House Of Fun, who amassed over HK$7.5 million in career earnings. She is also closely related to the stakes winning Zoustar gelding THE ASTROLOGIST, who, judging by his last two victories, is a sprinter on the way to Group One level.
Something Violet has two colts to run for her in the coming years, a Supido colt who will turn two later next month and another colt by the winning producing machine, Star Witness. She is being offered in foal to another young, up and coming sire in Stratum Star. By the ill-fated sire Stratum, Stratum Star was a dual Group One winner amassing almost $2.5 million in career earnings. Stratum Star’s oldest progeny are two-year-olds in the current 20/21 season and has had the recent impressive debut winner Avalicious and the placed Cassowary, In Her Stride, Swamp Nation and Watch Me Rumble from a very limited number of starters. An impressive start for a sire who looks certain to improve once his progeny turn three. He is throwing great individuals, with yearlings selling up to $180,000, $135,000, $110,000 offering great return on investment.
