Description
To go with a quality pedigree, VEE CECE is a 16hh, well built, correct mare boasting impressive racetrack performance. She presents as a breeding proposition, albeit she is sound to continue racing.
In her first preparation in the summer/autumn of her 3yo season, VEE CECE showed the makings of a quality race filly, winning from 1400m-2400m and contesting Group class races. Though, as a 4yo, she showed her best over 1600m, displaying a terrific turn-of-foot on many occasions. A winner over the mile in that preparation, she also finished 2nd in the Listed Wairarapa Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes and 4th in the Group 3 Cuddle Stakes. She was unlucky not to be a stakes-winning mare.
VEE CECE is a daughter of Canford Cliffs, the Irish-bred stallion who was a Champion miler and a winner of five Group 1’s over that distance. She is out of the Group 3-placed Zabeel-mare, Vereza, a winner of six races in her own right. It is the family of Burst, the Golden Slipper winner and Champion two-year-old filly. They are most attractive bloodlines.
